Position Scope
The Field Service Technician works in a manufacturing environment and is responsible for independently installing, repairing, and maintaining production equipment and related systems. This role requires technical proficiency, problem-solving skills, and the ability to interpret mechanical drawings and specifications. Work may involve travel, extended hours, and adherence to strict project timelines to ensure system reliability and production efficiency. Field Service Technicians are also expected to support and mentor entry-level technicians, promoting skill development and safe work practices.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
● Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing equipment and systems with limited supervision
● Diagnose mechanical and operational issues, identify root causes, and perform corrective actions
● Modify, fabricate, or adapt parts as needed to complete repairs and improve performance
● Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life
● Maintain accurate documentation of service work, repairs, and part usage ● Follow all safety procedures and ensure a safe, organized work area for self and others
● Travel to job sites as required and meet project deadlines that may limit time off during active assignments
● Arrive on time to designated worksites, fully prepared with the necessary tools, equipment, and protective gear to complete assigned tasks
● Represent FPS with professionalism at all times, maintaining a positive attitude, appropriate appearance, and respectful communication with clients and coworkers
● Expected to work extended or overtime hours as necessary to meet installation, service, or production requirements
● Demonstrate a strong mechanical background with proficiency in the use of hand and power tools
● Possess welding experience and the ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications
● Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing hands-on work for extended periods in a fast-paced setting
● Utilize a cell phone responsibly to communicate and coordinate work-related information while on assignment
● Apply basic math skills for measurements, alignment, and equipment setup ● Exhibit reliability, accountability, and strong attention to detail
● Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and clients to ensure project clarity and safety compliance
● Provide guidance and mentorship to entry-level technicians, demonstrating proper techniques, safety practices, and professional conduct
● Perform other related duties as assigned to support production, maintenance, and field service operations
This full-time position offers paid travel, per diem when required to travel, paid time off, a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical and dental coverage. Work may involve travel, extended hours, and tight project deadlines to ensure assignments are completed on schedule.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
● Assist in the installation, inspection, and repair of manufacturing equipment by following written or verbal instructions, diagrams, and drawings
● Perform basic maintenance, adjustments, and troubleshooting under the supervision of senior technicians
● Help fabricate, replace, or adapt parts to support proper equipment operation and efficiency
● Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, using proper protective gear and following all safety procedures
● Arrive on time to designated worksites, fully prepared with the necessary tools, equipment, and protective gear to complete assigned tasks
● Conduct oneself as a representative of FPS, maintaining a professional appearance, language, and attitude at all times
● Travel to project sites as required and work extended or overtime hours when necessary to meet production or project deadlines
● Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and a general understanding of tools, machinery, and basic fabrication techniques
● Possess foundational welding experience or a willingness to learn welding and fabrication as part of skill development
● Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing hands-on work for extended periods in a fast-paced setting
● Use a cell phone responsibly to communicate and coordinate work-related needs while on assignment
● Perform basic math computations used in measurements and equipment setup
● Display a strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and teamwork
● Remain open to learning new technical skills and communicating effectively with supervisors and coworkers
● Perform other related duties as assigned to support production and maintenance operations
Benefits
This full-time position offers paid travel, per diem when required to travel, paid time off, a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical and dental coverage.
